We’re thrilled to announce that Laya, singer-songwriter and core artist under AKASHIK’s development wing, has been officially shortlisted for the prestigious JBL Music Academy 2025 which is a global initiative designed to spotlight and elevate emerging musical talent.

The four-day intensive hosted by Martin Garrix along with mentorship by A. R. Rahman, and other world-renowned leading industry figures will be held at STMPD Studios in Amsterdam this November.

Now in its third edition, the JBL Music Academy has built a solid reputation for discovering and nurturing artists across genres and borders. The program provides valuable tools, mentorship, and international creative exposure to support promising talent in their professional development.

Hailing from South India, Laya is the only Tamil-English vocalist chosen for this year’s academy, making her a standout among the global cohort. Her distinctive sound fuses soulful pop melodies with the emotional depth of R&B.
